How do you keep indoor cats entertained without catnip toys?

When I adopted Bella, an indoor rescue, she had never shown interest in catnip. At first, I panicked—how could I keep her from getting bored? Then I tried puzzle toys filled with treats. Watching her gently paw and nudge the toy until a treat rolled out was magical. Her frustration turned into determination, and then into pride as she “hunted” her reward. Over time, I realized the puzzle toys not only kept her busy but also gave her confidence. Without catnip, she still thrived—her toys became a way for her to practice being the hunter she was born to be, even inside four walls.
