My playful tuxedo cat, Pepper, gets bored of toys within days. Catnip never worked, so I had to rotate non-catnip options. I bought a motion-activated butterfly toy that flutters unpredictably, and Pepper was hooked. She crouched low, wiggled her tail, and pounced with full force—over and over again. The unpredictability kept her fascinated. The trick I learned is to rotate toys—use feathers one day, balls the next, puzzles another. Cats thrive on variety, just like us. Pepper taught me that boredom isn’t about lacking catnip—it’s about needing new challenges to keep their hunting spirit alive.
