Hey everyone! I recently adopted a Ragdoll, and she’s honestly the sweetest thing ever — but wow, she’s lazy. She prefers watching birds from the window instead of chasing anything. I’ve tried balls and a feather wand, but she loses interest fast. What toys actually keep Ragdolls entertained and moving a bit? Any recommendations for something interactive or puzzle-like that works for calm cats?

My Ragdoll’s favorite is a feather wand. She doesn’t go wild, but she’ll chase it lazily like it’s her daily workout routine.

@alexeybut Cat tunnels! My two Ragdolls chase each other through them. It’s adorable and gives them exercise without effort.

@arthurtausa Get a “flopping fish” toy. The movement makes mine curious enough to swat at it again and again.

Ragdoll cats are playful but also quite relaxed, so the best toys are the ones that encourage gentle chasing, pouncing, and mental stimulation. From my experience, a few types of toys work really well for keeping them active and entertained.

Feather wand toys are usually a favorite. Moving the feathers along the floor or slowly through the air mimics prey, which encourages your cat to chase and jump. It’s also a great way to interact and bond with your cat.

Another good option is interactive puzzle toys or treat dispensers. These make your cat work a little to get treats, which keeps them mentally stimulated and prevents boredom, especially if they spend most of their time indoors.

Cat tunnels can also be fun for Ragdolls. Many cats enjoy hiding inside and jumping out to “ambush” toys or your hand moving outside the tunnel.

For solo play, ball track toys or rolling balls are great because the cat can bat them around without needing you to be involved the whole time.

Lastly, soft plush toys with catnip are great for kicking, biting, and cuddling. Some Ragdolls really enjoy carrying these around like prey.

A small tip: try rotating toys every few days so your cat doesn’t get bored with the same ones. Even simple toys can feel new again when reintroduced later.

I swear by treat-dispensing balls. Ragdolls love food more than cardio, so this keeps mine moving.

Bird videos on TV + a soft ball = instant entertainment. Ragdolls are visual hunters!

Rotate toys weekly. They get bored easily, so switching things up keeps them excited.
